We are an early stage startup focused on enabling people to meet, interact & sell everyday things amongst themselves without poking our nose in between, Just like the real world markets.
Roopit is not exactly a classifieds service as it is not at all about posting an advertisement but about buying/selling tangible things. It does not have ads on jobs, matrimony or other services which are typically a part of classifieds.
Roopit is not exactly a marketplace as it is not a part of the transaction. It does not control or oversee exchange of money between the buyer & Seller.
Roopit is not exactly a website as consumption of the most critical piece of information, the seller's phone number by the buyer, happens over SMS. Infact, you can interact with Roopit completely over SMS.
Roopit is not exactly an SMS service as you could reach all of Roopit's information by making a phone call. Imagine this situation: You are looking to rent a house in Koramangala. You call up +91-9916-ROOPIT (That's 9916766748) & tell us about your specifications after which you will receive an SMS with all potential houses to rent in Koramangala with the house owner's phone numbers.
Roopit is not a yellow pages or local search on the phone. We don't have contact information of businesses like restaurants.
